About Me

About me… Huh. I wasn’t prepared for such an existential experience QUITE so early in the morning but I’ll wing it…

I’m not really a “morning person” or a “night owl” more like an afternoon bitch if I don’t get my nap in.

I am an introvert and I’m still learning that means so much more than “shy”. I need time to myself, quiet time to recharge my battery (although at this point I should probably just replace the damn thing). I like people, in SMALL doses. I don’t like a lot of noise (be it the tv and the radio or three people talking and a YouTube video playing) as I am easily overstimulated… I want to focus on one thing at a time, giving it/them my full attention.

However, when I’m engaged? I’m 100%. I take things seriously. I write about intensly personal things and am often told I “write raw”.

Then again, I love to joke and laugh, especiall at myself!  I’ve done some stand-up comedy  around the Twin Cities, even going  so far as to make the semi-finals in Acme Comedy Company’s Funniest Person contest last year.

I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember (roughly age 11, though depending on the day, that might only be since last week) and have had short stories published in two anthologies and a couple of pieces published online.

I live in the suburbs with my husband, teenage (!?!?) daughter and two fat, ungrateful cats.

As for more up to date information (and an explaination as to why my blog has taken a more serious tone) I lost a baby boy during a “late term miscarriage” at 16 weeks in April and my younger sister in May to addiction. I am using my blog to grieve and process while planning to post some lighter stuff soon!

Thanks for reading and following- I’m doing this for myself but it helps so much to know people are listening.

Hugs!
